The weekend was filled with some new and old experiences.
I've never had a baby kitten fall asleep inside of my hoodie before: http://frankensplean.livejournal.com/35471.html . I've never seen anyone make maple syrup before: http://www.eagletribune.com/news/stories/20050320/NH_004.htm . I've never sat in a Tiki hut http://www.kowloonrestaurant.com/ with Tiki officianados http://www.tikicentral.com/ before. There truly is geekery of many flavors!
In the old category, I did some knitting, saw my family, and spent some quality time with the hubby and fuzzy kids (which, though not a new thing, never in fact gets old).
An old friend from the Dance studio was up with 2 of her 3 kids on Saturday, so it was nice talk to her for an extended period for the first time since 2002ish. I had last seen Danielle at the wake http://dancer.livejournal.com/451350.html#cutid1 , and being Peg's granddaughter via marriage I knew she'd have a tough time watching Saturday's ballet class. It feels like it was so long ago that we were dancing together, a couple of teens that probably thought we knew just about everything about anything.
Sunday was the 2 year anniversary of Miss Peggy's death http://dancer.livejournal.com/449605.html , and so the family was in town for yesterday's anniversary mass. I still can't believe that she's gone.
