Its amazing how much you can get done if you get up early enough in the morning. The only problem is, you can't stay up as late as effectively :)

I did indeed paint the first floor bathroom door. Brian finished plastering the bedroom and did all of the wall paint. You can see the color here, where Brian is actually modeling his new cast from original TK kit: http://tk7602.livejournal.com/824390.html?#cutid1 .

I'll try and finish my bureau tonight, and we could be moving stuff into the bedroom later this week, wow! We still have some trim to paint, and a ton of cleaning to do, which will give the poly on the bureau a chance to dry. I still need to polish my brass drawer pulls for said bureau.

Mal is doing well. He's getting more antsy being locked into the den, but his oozing is subsiding. We've been getting into the routine of caring for him, and still have one of us sleep on the couch at night to keep him company. He snuggled up on Brian's chest for a good chunk of last night apparently. He's such a cutie!

Inspired by an NPR series on Organized Crime this week, I'm listening to the "Mob Hits" soundtrack.

It seems that WW online does permit the lifetime membership (I knew that meeting memberships did, I wasn't sure about ours). If after 6 weigh-ins (6 weeks of tracking) once passing goal I'm within 2 lbs of goal and in my healthy range (which I've been in this whole time) I'm a lifetime member. That means I can continue to use the website for free. You don't have to be in that range each week for 6 weeks - you just have to be at weigh-in #6 (because they'd expect some fluctuation).

Of course, I'd need to pay for one more month of membership to get those 6 weeks, but I think it may be worth it. The tools on the website are pretty neat.

As usual, given that there were a lot of social engagements this past weekend I didn't do so well eating wise, but I'm still (I think) within my flex points range). Its difficult to estimate how much something is worth if you don't have the nutritional information, and the food item isn't on the little WW search list. We shall see!

I really need to take in some of my clothes . . . my pants are kind of falling off of me and not all of them have belt loops! :)

Here's an article - I heard this on the radio during my commute this morning:
http://www.dailynewstribune.com/localRegional/view.bg?articleid=74678

I never had Mr. Dacey as a teacher because I never attended South Middle School, but my sister was a student with him and my brother potentially was too (I'm not sure when Dacey left South and how that related to when my brother was there). I know he was quite active in the schools with the drama program and I remember going to see my sister in their annual production of "Rock n' Roll" the musical. I think he also had some kind of role in the Waltham Children's summer theater, as did other teachers.

My sister's comments: "I heard about Dacey - fucking pig. Doesn't shock me at all. He was always a little too close to the kids if you ask me."

Which makes you think about what a fine line it is for teachers who want to be active and have a strong role in their student's educational experiences. He may or may not be guilty (and that's not up to me to decide), but how do you say what's *too* close to kids, particularly in that teen age range where interacting as a sort of peer but still with structure/boundaries is the best way to get through to them? Isn't there (coincidentally) a Robin Williams movie in theaters now that touches on this?

I thought some of you would be interested in this, particularly those into Middle Eastern Dance and culture:
