Peapod review
Nov. 21st, 2006 03:37 pmWe received our first Peapod delivery last Friday, and the experience was a very good one. We had some very minor substitutions (because we checked the box on the website to allow it if necessary) but things arrived in a good state, the order was complete, the driver was nice and it saved us the hassle of leaving our house to shop. Our delivery window was 5-7 PM and he showed up at 5:30. They'll bring the bags up into your house (plastic, no paper), but I asked him to just leave them on the front porch since I figured it would be easier for me to deal with keeping the cats in while I brought them in myself. I did give him a tip, only a few dollars I had in my wallet and nothing major. It is allowed with Peapod (though, it wasn't allowed with Homeruns, a company we used years ago that folded).
We got some coupons to use on our next 3 orders, $5 off though we'd need to spend $100 to get the discount (they expire in December of 2007, not bad). They save your past purchases online so that buying repeat items is easy (just click off of an already stored list). They had a "Thanksgiving" section with things that they thought most would want for Thanksgiving, which made our ordering easier since we *were* buying for Thanksgiving. Its easy to navigate the site, search for things and browse what's on sale this week.
There were a couple of things that we wanted that they didn't have, though nothing earth shattering. I think it will be worth it to me sometimes to save the time and do the online order, rather than taking the hour out of a night to go out.
