Playing hooky
Jan. 3rd, 2007 10:15 amWell, not really. We picked up the Supah Troopah at the airport at around 1:00 AM last night, so I had asked my boss for today off. Its a good thing too, because it took a while for his luggage to come through, and we stopped to try and jump a woman with a dead battery in the garage before we left. He had such great stories from marching in the parade, and the reaction of LFL to Bob Eubanks' awful comments on the 501st are amusing - I'll be amazed if he ever works on TV again (don't mess with the George!).
I slept late, weighed myself (how I lost 1.5 lbs this week eludes me) and had breakfast. Sharing the leftover milk with Jayne is always fun, and playing fetch with Mal is also a good way to start the morning. He'll meow at me and poke me if I'm ignoring him for this shiny light up box on the table (how dare I)?
I'm going shopping today to spend a NY and Company gift certificate that Brian got for me, and pick up some stuff I need that also happens to be at that mall. We're giving away our old TV this afternoon, so it will free up some room in the den. I may put stuff away in the attic - all our holiday decorations are currently in the craft room. It feels kind of weird taking a day out in the middle of the week, but I have something like 200 hours of vacation time at my disposal, so why not? I may even continue to go through old photos and things that I should be storing in a better way than in boxes in our attic (that gets quite hot and stuffy in the summer). Go crafty me!
Have a great day all!
