I like LJ's purple. The cheezy hearts are cheezy, but I guess they are appropriate and all.
Brian and I don't usually do anything special on Valentine's Day, because being schmoopy on cue just seems kind of silly. He was supposed to be on call, but as luck would have it he switched shifts with my brother who needed time off from on-callness later in the month. So we'll be doing something exciting (or at least more exciting than cooking pasta at home) for dinner tonight.
I came home from the studio last night (which was dead I may add, too many people sick or scared of this massive 3" deep blizzard we got in Waltham) to find Brian in the den playing with the Xbox. I sat in there through a viewing of Galactica and The Dresden Files until Brian said "Hey, what's that up on the shelf". For the first time ever, Brian had bought me some flowers and chocolates for Valentine's Day and they had been sitting on the shelf in front of me all night and I didn't notice! When I'm focused, I'm focused. He decided to for once to do the cheezy traditional Valentine's Day thing and picked up a small red rose bush and a box of Lindt truffles for me. The box is thankfully small that you get a good taste but not so large that you feel like a cow after eating them).
I was so confused by the whole thing that I forgot to set my alarm last night and woke up fully rested at 8:00 AM, when I normally would have been at the office for a half hour already - doh! Thankfully the interview I had (with my boss) at 9:00 canceled; by the time I got here it was 9:15. Here's hoping Brian has the time to shovel, because I'd normally do it being the first out of the house - there just wasn't time.
Have a great February 14th all, with whatever you choose to do with it.
