Bathroom morning
Apr. 9th, 2007 12:49 pmSand plaster, clean up, caulk (heh) the seams in the ceiling tiles: Amy Winehouse
Prime the walls and floor: Journey's Greatest Hits
I'm waiting 2 hours for stuff to dry before doing the paint on the ceiling (1 coat) and walls (2 coats). Maybe I'll go for showtunes this time? Or Voltaire? Something kind of silly that I can sing to.
Brian's calling the junk guy today to take all of the stuff away that's been piling up in our back yard, back porch and the back of our driveway - I'm sure our next door neighbors will be SO excited. I never wanted to be one of those neighbors that left shit in their yard and made the place look like an eyesore, so I've been feeling kind of guilty. "Mr. Junk" is much cheaper than a dumpster and he served us well before, so there's a tip to remodelers. Brian will also hit Home Depot on the way home, again. We've been making a trip there for things almost daily, but its been less stressful than trying to remember it all on one trip and carry it in all at the same time. We have one piece of wonderboard and one piece of greenboard we can return (whoot) which gets the rest of the construction crap out of our first floor. We're taking back control over the house.
Tonight the medicine cabinet and our light goes in, and we'll tile the floor (I've got to take pictures of this to share with you!). Its starting to look like a room! We're working tomorrow and Wednesday, and we're hoping we can both take Thursday off to spend the day and night tiling the walls. Geesh! We have plans on Friday and Saturday night, but I'm hoping that by the end of the weekend the bulk of the work will be done and maybe, just maybe we can call the plumber on Monday to schedule a time for them to hook up the final goodies.
I'm excited about having this bathroom (and not to mention a life again). I can see it in the distance! :)
