A Weekend in Pictures
Apr. 30th, 2007 08:08 amOn Friday we had dinner at http://www.chateaurestaurant.com/, dessert at home (swan shaped pastries from http://www.panoramabakery.com/) and caught Hot Fuzz at The Embassy. So good! Who knew that the swan dessert would go along with the movie?
On Saturday after grabbing my rain barrel, dropping off some donations to http://www.sisterthrift.com/home.asp and a ballet class we finally made it to the Sheep Shearing Festival http://www.marmontianderson.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=16 . Its weird seeing women grown with kids that you hung out with as a kid. We didn't run into Feline alas, but we did have some kick butt apple crisp.
Saturday night was the Worcester Brigade concert (there were also stepdancers, a high school jazz band and a high school acapella group. My Dad donated a framed print for raffle and they raised around $250 from the ticket sales from that. He's also donating 1/2 of the proceeds from the sale of prints ordered from that night to the same cause (the Webster Fire Department Rescue Squad). Pics and a couple of movies are here (I'm not sure how well the movies will work given how slow our site is - its in the process of moving elsewhere): http://www.marmontianderson.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=17
Yesterday Brian and I hosted a costuming get together. I finally got the hood and collar onto my Leia dress, and it was fun to be sewing again (I felt like I had to play hostess to a tiny degree and the sewing room was CROWDED, so I didn't do as much as I probably should have). I'm hoping to finish the dress by the end of the week - all it needs is some hemming and gathering around the waist and its done (finally). I'm looking forward to starting work on my Inara outfit and I need to raid my fabric stash in the attic and get some garb together for faire season.
Mal's stitches come out tonight and he and Jayne can run and play again together. I can't wait. Its surely been a long couple of weeks and I'm looking forward to sharing a bed with my husband again.
I have dance class tomorrow and I'll be bringing a Flat Stanley http://www.flatstanley.com/how.html with me. My co-worker's niece is working on this project right now and she's been bringing Flat Stanley everywhere. He's been to a Red Sox Game and went all over Boston yesterday. On Tuesday he'll go to the studio with me; I'll get a picture of him at the barre or something (or dancing up on the floor with all of the ladies).
