My brother's cat lives with my parents for the time being, due to roommate allergies and him never being at home. Chewie has taken to sitting on my Dad's lap anytime he tries to sit down at the computer or at his easel to paint. Here's some cute pictures Dad sent me today (you can see his funky double paws in some of the photos, and his massive thumb):

Through the wonders of technology, I bought the new Megadeth album off iTunes this morning before coming to work. It hasn't grabbed me the same way that The System Has Failed did, but I'm wondering if its because that album came out after so much time without one (though, Die Dead Enough is still an awesome song and it still gives me sort of chills sometimes). Either way, I like the new album. There's lots of death and political corruptness as one can expect from any Megadeth album. There is one song that's clearly driven by Dave's found religion (I guess out of a whole album only having one isn't so bad - its to be expected now) and there's one with strong biblical overtones but its about the apocalypse and the apocalypse has a long heavy metal history *coughMetallica* with various bands.

Track list to United Abominations:
Sleepwalker - violence he dreams he want to inflict
Washington is Next - political corruption
Never Walk Alone/A Call to Arms - super religious 'I'll carry you' kind of song
United Abominations - political corruption, war
Gears of War - war
Blessed Be the Dead - war, apocalypse
Play for Blood - war, violence
A Tout Le Monde (Set me Free) - the remake with Christina Scabbia. I think their voices work really well together actually. The video is on Youtube and you can find it on the Lacuna Coil Myspace group. Dave asked Christina to do the song with him, which is how this all came together. Oh my! I commented to Brian "could this video get any more hotness in it?"

I haven't had a chance to listen to the last three closely since I'm at work now and its not conducive to blasting Megadeth, but you can gather that they are about war, death, and/or political corruptness from the titles (or, due to the fact that Dave Mustaine had something to do with it):

Unrelated to Megadeth, Apollo's dance to Salt and Pepa's "Push It" on last night's "Dancing with the Stars" left both Brian and I speechless. What was that about too much hotness? Damn.
