Busy Weekend
Jul. 15th, 2007 07:46 pmMy Sister got married on Friday night http://www.marmontianderson.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=34 . Brian, EJ and I were expecting it, and we were right! They own a home together, have been together for quite a while and as they announced on Friday (I knew already) are 6 weeks pregnant. Both sets of parents looked like they were going to pass out from the shock on all accounts. My Sister had her own surprise too, when Bob (her hubby) announced that he had booked a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda behind her back. He arranged for her to have time off work, for others to be trained on some of her work (she kind of runs the office) and for my parents to babysit while they are gone. There is so much going on all at once, but it suits my Sister just perfectly. Schmoop! :) She pissed off some of her friends who weren't able to be there - the invitees included just immediate family. JD took part in the ceremony as the ring bearer (her ring is gorgeous, and as she told me, a ring that Oprah also has . . . she idolizes Oprah). JD was also asked to give his approval to the marriage given his role in their relationship. Such a big kid - he kept all of it a secret for the 4 months they've been planning.
Saturday was JD's birthday, and we went to the cookout for a bit http://www.marmontianderson.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=35 before heading to Hampton. The Tastee Tower is no more! I was so upset that a parking lot was standing in its place that I called my parents to let them know. Mom said she heard something about a fire there, but I can't find any mention online anywhere. More and more Hampton is populated less and less. I cross my fingers and hope it doesn't go the way of Salisbury but a tiny part of me is expecting it to. I think its a way for me to protect myself against severe disappointment if that occurs.
What a long, busy, thoughtful weekend!
