We finished our Shutterfly album setup last night. We're getting my sister and her hubby a wedding album (and a couple of parent's albums) as their wedding gift. The cool thing was that if we ordered by tomorrow we'd get a free 8x8 storybook album. That's what we were ordering for the parents anyway, so we ordered their 12x12 official album yesterday, and once the free credit for the storybook comes through in a day or so we'll order those two for the parents. I figured it was a gift that they'd appreciate that would save them some effort on their part (Brian ended up being the official photographer given that the whole thing was a surprise and he had the best camera in the place).
I spent a couple of hours working on the Inara costume last night. The pleather hand/wrist/arm bits are all sewn and my jeweled belts shipped yesterday so I'm on schedule for those. I did end up finding a Vanity Fair bra with no underwire at Kohls last night (only $20) that had the same general shape as her top. I'm using it right now to draft out pattern pieces with muslin and then once I have the shell sewn I'll probably try and attach it to the bra for more support (I still haven't figured out how the whole thing will go on - if I need side snaps or if it could just go over my head).
I got the front bottom part done (the part under the boobs) and started working on the cups. Given the patchwork nature of them, it will be a bit more complicated (I have to guess that the seams are where they are to allow darts in the proper places for sizing). I have dance class tonight (which will run late, because we're hitting http://www.margs.com/ for dinner and drinks after class) but I should get some more time in on these least of all on Thursday, perhaps a bit on Wednesday (though we need groceries). Given normal summer activities I know that I need to just keep working on this when I can (unless I'm in a sour mood that would interfere with construction). We leave in less than 2.5 weeks and there is still a lot to do. I'm still kind of terrified of fitting in those gold threads .
We're going to see 42nd Street with the http://www.reagleplayers.com/ on Friday, heading to http://www.pi-con.org/ for the day on Saturday and are hosting a visiting friend of Brian's on Sunday from http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/ . Somewhere in there I'll pick up my dress form (hopefully) and start putting the bodice together.
