I took a vacation day today (I have them to burn) to drop the car for an alignment and oil change before we drive 1000 miles to GA in two weeks. It also allowed me to get a bunch of costuming done for DC, to drop off our old RCN cable box in Arlington, to pick up costuming supplies in the same town at Playtime and to relax a bit.
I've been working on costuming for a huge chunk of each day from Saturday to now. Thanks to all that time and Brian's help with some tailoring the Inara pattern is hammered out!
I have the last summer ballet class tonight until 8:00, so after that I'll cut out some of the REAL fabric for the bodice and perhaps get back to that arm band. As Brian pointed out, I have some leftover chain that I can take apart and re-link into mesh to sew onto the armband so that it has more coverage. I want to keep working on the project, but I don't want to sit at that sewing machine anymore tonight. Heh.
We drive out 2 weeks from tomorrow - not bad at all I think! We'll be around a good chunk of the weekend so we should be able to knock a lot more work out on things.
My Inara laser bow is so sexy. Its now the biggest sci-fi weapon in the house and it has LOTS of LEDs. I can't wait to debut the thing - Brian's really outdone himself with the construction with this one and Sajuka is l33t with his electronics skills.
