Coolness

Brian and I went to the shooting of the http://www.myspace.com/waltham video last night at The Skellig. It was a HS reunion as usual. It was cool running into Mason (a guy I met through old HxC friends) for the first time in forever. Brian said that the chicks at Waltham shows always look the same - you could pick out the drunk bar patrons from the drunk band patrons easily (he said that Waltham girls always have something about them that makes them look like rock chicks).

A freaky thing I learned from an old friend I have seen lately (I can't believe this never came up before) is that another friend's sister used to live in my house! My brother had a friend around his age that lived there. That girl's Mom is the older sister of an old HS friend of mine. The townie is overwhelming! Robbie had helped John's sister move into the place, and he knew all of the details of how it used to be. They lived there 3 years, sold to this guy Uday who sold to us.

I'm not sure how I feel about as how Brian put it: "fake rockin' out to your high school friend's lip synching" (we did the same video take over and over again but I will be curious to see this video when it comes out on 9/11). A clump of us were grooving while Frank stood in front of us singing and at a strategic point in the song we started pumping our fists in the air and acting all crazy. Doing that 10 times leaves you pretty silly by the end, with people clearly overacting. I'm curious how great those later takes will be.

If you are planning to go to the Locofest (quite the lineup, Dio's Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Queensryche, Shadow's Fall, Waltham and others) http://www.walthamtheband.com/loco.html pick up your tickets from Pino Brothers Ink and you'll get $25 of credit to their shop (they are dedicated to playing low costing shows, so this is a way to try and make the price of the Loco tickets less painful). Brian and I want to go - we'll put our $50 to his ink once he gets over his initial fear of doing it. ;)

For any crocheters or knitters around Waltham, the woman that owns the Island Yarn Company is selling it. Things are kind of in limbo because her buyer is on vacation, but she's working to clear out the inventory. Nothing is on sale now, BUT, she told my Mom that for $500 she could buy $2000 worth of yarn.

If my Mom, myself and some other split it it could work out to something cool - anyone interested?
