The employee recognition dinner was at http://www.spinellisfunction.com/pages/lynnfield.html . It was very neat to be recognized (I received a fancy pen, my co-worker who is at 10 years with the company an engraved clock). There were people there ranging from 5 to 50 years of service with the company! The stories from the long timers were very inspiring. It was also nice to see Lucy, the sweet woman that used to clean the Malden building we worked in (celebrating her 10 year anniversary).
Before the dinner I ran some errands. I finally made a stop at Penzeys to use our free coupon (Tuscan seasoning) and grabbed some paprika, raspberry enlightenment (been meaning to try) and mint cocoa - tis the season. I also picked up some vanilla beans for my baker co-worker to try. From there I headed to Best Buy to pick up the first season of Metalocalpyse on DVD (I had a $15 gift card to use up). With the $20 bill I threw in to cover the difference I ended up with $6.66 in change. Coincidence? I'm not sure. Either way, it was brutal!
We're going to a Pampered Chef party tonight which I'm excited about. They are always a lot of fun and Brian's never been to one before. This weekend will bring fall goodness and lots and lots of Halloween preparation. We need to get cracking on our own V costumes (I have most of the supplies myself, Brian is getting the rest on Saturday) and there is now a Jabba living in our garage. Thankfully, he'll only be there until the Woburn Parade (where he'll move to another member's garage out in Lunenburg).
What? You don't have an almost full-sized Jabba the Hutt puppet in your garage?! Our house just gets weirder and weirder . . .
