We had a fun time! Photos are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/tk7602/sets/72157612675893811/ .

We arrived Friday to get our room and register with time to find friends, get food , hit the "Joss Whedon is our Master" panel, and meet up for Galactica. Post the show we suited up in our SW costumes for a bit and checked out RHPS (left after the preshows). Friday is the most sedate of the evenings, so we headed to bed at around 1 AM.

We woke up when we wanted to on Saturday with no alarm (heavenly) and got into our Torchwood costumes after the lovely buffet breakfast. It was nice to have folks recognize us, and the "Is Torchwood Jumping the Shark" panel was a lot of fun. We hit the art show in the morning and got to spend some time with the Artist Guest of honor, http://www.daveseeley.com/ , who has done a lot of SW artwork. In the afternoon all of the SW folks suited up and we met in the lobby for photo ops with people. It was nice to have Dana, Jessie and their R2 at the con (I think the little droid was more popular than most of us, Captain Rex being the exception). We changed to be comfy for the bellydance show (so good - Badriya's Godzilla was my favorite) and enjoyed the buffet for dinner. The evening would bring more silly costumes (SW sheet dress), parties and the ever popular Saturday night dance. It was fun getting our dance on with all of the SW geeks, and there is much in the way of incriminating video. The end of the night had some snafus - folks that imbibed too much in various vices. We were in bed by about 4:00 AM or so.

Today was our last day, and we were up with the alarm to get checked out of the room in time (left our stuff in the car). After the buffet breakfast we headed down to Dr. Horrible courtesy of http://teseracte.thrasherkitch.com/ (Brian in his Captain Hammer Costume and me as his groupie). SO GOOD! We had so much fun, and I really hope that they do this again next year. We met up with more friends for more wandering and headed home post the snow to some shoveling, attention starved cats and huge mounds of laundry.

I had a lot of fun this year and it was nice to be able to relax and just enjoy the con (rather than being responsible for a Sith Ball, 5 panels, a fan table and a charity fundraising raffle with 40 or so prizes). There were a lot of folks that asked us where our fan table was or what kind of charity fundraising we were going to do; it was nice to see we made such an impact. Perhaps next year we can at least have the fan table and sell something at the table for charity (no more raffles for me). I wanted to step back and let someone else take over things this year, which obviously nobody did. :)

As with any con its odd to enter the real world again. I'm glad that I took tomorrow off to get things back to normal (and hopefully go visit my sister at home).
