We saw Fright Night with Jen on Friday. It was a fun tribute to the original which I don't remember much of. David Tennant made that movie - his Chris Angel-like character was a riot. It was spooky and fun without being gross or melodramatic, ala Lost Boys, or something. I'm glad we saw it in the theater.
On Saturday we puttered around the house until having dinner in NH with my parents. I wanted to take them out for their anniversary which was 6/30, and it has just taken this long. The place was good (Valentino's in Hudson) and we watched the King's Speech and Moonstruck with them at home before heading back to our place.
Sunday was an old Boston Netgoth reunion of sorts, where we went to a cookout at Tom and Lee's in Northwood, NH (The Outhaus) for a cookout. It has been a long time. I can't believe that Brennan is 11 years old now (!). They are down to 1 llama, have a couple of goats, and a lot of chickens. Tom has set up a pub in his basement now as he's been brewing (sparkly water from the fridge all day). I finally had some smores to end off the summer and we enjoyed fireworks ala Ash. We also scored a free co-sleeper and some cute, nerdy sleepers for the kid.
We were going yesterday to visit a friend that had a babe over a week ago, so we got some things done around the house in the AM and visited with them a bit in Malden on the way to Salem. It was a GORGEOUS day for it - the calm before the storm. We had parked near a monster/horror museum, Count Orlocks, and went in. It was great for classic horror/monster movie fans - all reproductions of characters, masks and plaques describing the movies, actors, etc. During the month of October they'll have some horror actors there - we're probably going to go on 10/8 and brave the craze in the town so that Brian can get Kane Hodder to sign his Jason mask.
Back to work! Rainy and in the 60s today, fall is surely here! I can't believe that we are post Labor Day. The NEG 10th anniversary shindig is next weekend!
Have a great week peeps. :)
