Prep for getting the lead out
Sep. 28th, 2011 02:37 pmBrian met with the lead contractor this morning, gave them our deposit and signed the contract. Thankfully the prep we will have to do for their work is much more minimal than expected.
We have to take things off walls in areas they are working and push furniture to the middle of the room. If there are things on a bookshelf for instance, we just push the shelf and all its contents into the middle of the room. They will wrap in plastic everything to keep the dust/spread minimal.
This will be interesting in our bedroom, where our bed is in the middle of the room, and there is a path around it to walk with bureaus up against the walls. We'll push as much to the middle as possible.
Brian does have to empty out his entire closet since they are clearing lead out of there. A good chance to weed out things and reorganize perhaps?
Once this work is done we need to actually put into the babe's closet a pole, shelving, etc. I'm half tempted to go to the Container Store and plug the dimensions into one of their computers to see what they come up with for some kind of Elfa system. The closet is huge - the biggest of the few we have in our house. Seriously, it could be a small baby playrooom or office of sorts. There's a trend in kid room designing of taking closet doors off and using the closet as an extention of the room. Hrm. The options are endless. How dorky do I want to be about this? :)
