Weekend

We had a great one! Friday is typically our day to make pizza at home or go out. Given crazy traffic and a crazy week, I asked Brian to bring home Chinese food from the place next to his office. It is a townie favorite, though not a place I'd call "good". Still, it isn't as bad as Tiki House! ;) It was easy, and that's what we were looking for. We stayed up late for us to catch up with some Hulu recorded shows.

On Saturday I went to a wedding shower tea at the http://concordscolonialinn2-px.trvlclick.com/. I've been in Concord Center before, but never here. It was a nice afternoon and I learned a bit of the history of the place. Of course, I forgot my coat there (doh) and had to go back yesterday to pick it up. It was all good - it gave me a reason to walk around the center on a perfect fall day with Mina, but I digress. On Saturday night we had dinner with K at http://www.deluxestationdiner.com/. This is becoming our favorite breakfast place to go on the weekends, given that we love the food, decor, and the space is easy for us to bring Mina too. Their menu is great and varied, and they are very baby friendly (super baby seats that hang on the edge of the tables). For the first time (I think ever) we sampled dessert from them. It is nice to see something in that gorgeous HH Richardson train station space again. Years ago, I would hang out in the Coffee Connection location http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Howell_(entrepreneur) in the same spot.

Sunday was garlic day! I think this will be a new family tradition for us. We found out about the http://garlicandarts.org/ from our CSA farmers http://www.chestnutfarms.org/ (they usually have a booth selling grilled sausage and pepper sandwiches, but did not this year). The weather was iffy, but we were free and it is a pretty drive, so we decided to chance it. It was overcast and mucky but we did get some period of sun while there and the rain stayed away. Good food was had. Fun things were purchased. Hippies were - hippies. Brian and I aren't really, but seem to have some similar interests. Mina LOVED watching the dancers (Irish and Middle Eastern) and the bands. She also liked sampling a bit of one of Brian's schmancy cupcakes. We picked up a Waldof-inspired baby doll for her from http://radyshes.com/ - her very first doll! We also got a cute knit alpaca hat from a vendor that I bought a hat from last year. Mina did great, sleeping the way there and back. We managed to change her earlier in the day on two side by side folding chairs in an unoccupied area under a tent (oh boy) and then on the tailgate of Brian's truck. Didn't want to put a baby on the mucky, rain-soaked ground. The trees along route 2 were just gorgeous! I heart New England!

Back to the grind. My iphone is choking now, as I tried to update the OS to resolve some other bugs. Being without a way to get phone calls (in or out), and being paranoid, it is making us think we want a landline again just for emergencies. Which means depending on pricing, it may be worth it to get a cable package again. We shall see.
