Ick!

My face is peeling from the sunburn that I got on Monday, meaning, I can't really use any makeup to try and cover up the lovely pimple that decided to invade my face this week. Sometimes I get scared that I'll develop awful problems needing surgery that people in my Mom's family tend to have (like removing cysts that never go away, or one of those "pimples" actually being skin cancer). I can't believe I didn't remember to put sunblock on - usually I use the coppertone #75!

I RSVP'd today for a dinner I was invited to at Simmons to talk with current Psych majors about what I've been doing professionally since I left there. Part of this involved writing up a brief bio on 'where my degree has taken me'. If any of you know me well you know that I don't really do anything 'brief'. Trying to cram around 6 years of experience into a few sentences is challenging. Its next Monday - I'll be going in my dancing clothes and only hanging around for 1/2 hour or 45 min. before I have to head out to Central for my dance class. I'm really hoping that some of my old professors are able to be there, Its been a long time since I've seen them and I'd like to see what they've been up to.

It looks like a few are going to see http://www.walthamtheband.com with me tonight, YAY! Has anyone ever gone to The Harp before? Any idea of what the place is like? The only club I've gone to in that area was The Penalty Box (for a hardcore show) and that place upstairs from The Penalty Box (was it Hexx or Ceremony that was there for a while? I can't remember).

The Harp is an Irish place, and seems teeming with the "Ya Dude" sort, but it was also the only place in the North Station area I was vaguely interested in seeing what it was really like. I never did go in tho. Now I'm spoiled after having seen Raven in NYC.

There was some crappy 80's night upstairs from the Pentalty Box, I guess it started good but I heard nothing but bad things after that. I was there once to see (who else) the Cruxshadows, and the place had horrible sound, bartely any room, and inattentive bartenders, not to mention the departure into the excess from a Bruins game. I've never been so in fear for my safety.

Tonight should be good, I wish I could check it out but I'm already exhausted from my week and I'm working on the Cape today and it doesn't look like I'm getting back until late. Have fun, let me know how it is, maybe I can go next time.
