Camping in Hingham

We're going camping this weekend at http://www.state.ma.us/dem/parks/womp.htm and I'm wondering if any South Shore type folks know of beaches nearby to this park.
The campground doesn't have a place to swim, and since I won't be bringing a mountain bike I fear that I may get hiked-out and be looking for something to do involving moving around in water :)
Thanks in advance!

you *can* swim in the ocean; there's a public beach in town, but the water tends to be kind of nasty.

That's the impression I've gotten from people :/

OK then, I guess this will be the first camping trip where I don't go swimming then . . .
Thanks for the info!

Date: 2003-07-07 12:29 pm (UTC)I used to work with kids, and my parents swam in the Charles all of the time (back then, everybody in the neighborhood did) . . . perhaps that accounts for *my* uber immune system? :)
Ah well, here's hoping the hiking trails are nice and that they have firepits (I've heard some MA state parks on the shore don't allow them, like the ones on the cape)
