We're off for camping in a couple of hours, once the CD player is installed in the car and we get it all packed up.

This morning we dropped it off and had a yummy breakfast in the Panera Bakery in the re-done Arsenal Building in Watertown. That place is neat, B and I spent some time walking around all of the buildings trying to find the bank. I was wondering if there is still a fountain in the park behind it; when I went to Catholic School we had a family picnic event there one year.

Then B took me out to his office park so that I could see the three baby swans; they were born a few weeks ago and live in the pond between the buildings. They are so cute and fuzzy! I wish I could have seen Momma swan sitting on her eggs under the shade of the large tree near the statue of the sleeping dog. I don't know where all the male ducks were, a few females swam around near the swans pretty unaware of the other critters or what they were doing.

A trip to Sears on the way home secured us a new camping stove (this one is a grill rather than a stove like we have) and we picked up some new camping chairs. Then a stop at Kay Bee toys for super soakers; B has decided that the one he got last year is just a bit too excessive. Back to Waltham so that we could pick up yummy lunch at Pizzi Farm (mmmmm, Boar's Head cold cuts) and then we're home for a final e-mail check, showering and packing until we can pick up the car.

The CDs are set for the road - a typical dancer mix. I've got some Depeche Mode, Limp Bizkit, Freezepop, Delerium, Sisters of Mercy, Metallica, Lords of Acid and others to amuse us on the road. I'm amazed how much stuff you can fit in a Saturn Coupe!

And I finally picked up a Charles Bukowski book that I've wanted for a while. This is looking to be a relaxing weekend :)

Have a great one all!

Wow, camping! This should be a perfect weekend for it. Will you be near swimmable water?
I shall have to sleep out in my tent on my deck, to keep in the swing of things in these campingest of times, but for those of us who like their facilities attached to a plumbing system,
the deck or backyard works perfectly...now to find a small kiddie pool?

The bathrooms left something to desire but the beach (on a swimmable pond) was nice, the sites were nice and shady and the bathrooms were at least nearby. I'll post a link to pictures shortly :)

a *bit* excessive?

The waterguns from last year were silly. This year MINE was bigger than B's!

And I just picked up an anthology ('Follow the Hunted' or something like that). Because it was paperback, cheap and I hadn't read it yet :)
