The obligitory Monday update
Aug. 11th, 2003 08:23 amThis weekend was nice, not too busy, not too dead.
On Friday we got all gussied up and went out to Man Ray. PVC is a good thing. On Saturday we kicked butt in our laundry room: sand plaster, prime, 2 coats paint on walls, 2 coats paint on closet doors and paint on a shelf that cookbooks will be on. We were taken out to dinner by some lovely peeps and then went to Revere beach (ya dood!). Yesterday we did some crafting after brunch prepared by the lovely Devina, came home for some more kitchen stuff, had a nice dinner of grilled food and corn from the farm down the street and then just vegged in our swanky living room. B and I had some (heh) time for quality time last night, yay!
I've decided to set some realistic goals for myself now that I'm going back to school. Like, I want to set aside 1 day a month at least for crafting/sewing. I'm going to try and set aside my lunch hour for pleasure reading (homework will be after work and on weekends). I'm going to need to allow myself the time to exercise or dance after work on non-school days. I'm also going to try and pick up Italian again . . .
On that note, can anyone recommend good language CDs that I could listen to in my car?
My boss is back from her 2 week vacation today. I'm hoping she'll be energized and ready for us to work together, and do some interesting things rather than just scrambling with ad-hoc stuff all of the time.

Terrific Aspirations!
Date: 2003-08-11 05:45 am (UTC)I definitely hear you on the crafting. I sew (http://www.corgibuddy.com/clothrabbit.html) in my spare time (what little there is sometimes), and have been commissioned to hand-sew 50 primitive cloth rabbits for a Springtime craft fair ahead in the new year. I'm looking forward to it. I have bought all of the fabric, just need to start cutting out my templates and sewing again. That is the tricky part...finding the time to do it! *grin*

Date: 2003-08-11 05:53 am (UTC)The Italian CD's I got are by a guy named Michel Thomas. He's got an intro set and a full set of 5 or 7 CD's. The intro set was pretty good (and you're welcome to borrow mine if you want to try it out) but I'm thinking of getting the full set...two CD's doesn't get you very far.
Yay for good weekends!
