So I won my first Ebay auction. I pay-paled her the money on Friday and she shipped my item out today.

Its a toy gun for this costume: http://www.padawansguide.com/amidala_battle.shtml

Brian said that I'm a nerd :)

Now, what is a good paint for plastic? I'm not sure if the handle is accurate or not (its brown), I have to poke at more pix). But I'm pretty sure the tip of the gun is a silly fluorescent color, and that will not do!

krylon has been plastering the airwaves on hgtv for their new paint for plastic that apparently bonds with the material so it won't flake off:

Yeah the silly flouresent color has something to actually do with the law, All of new toy guns have to have flouresent colored tips to be sold in the US so the cops don't mistake them for real guns. I know when my american friends in Japan at school were planning to ship their air-soft guns (realistic looking replicas that shot plastic BBs at high speeds) they couldn't ship it without first painting the tims fouresent green or pink or something ridiculious like that otherwise they would have been confiscated by customs....

Congrats!

On the ebay win! :)

I've used the Krylon stuff for my plastic guns; sometimes the flourecent is so bright you need to spreay a primer on it first.

BTW, dunno if yuo saw this: http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=7227989

Thanks for the note on the primer :)

Yep, but that's not the outfit I'm making (I'm working on the Handmaiden Battle outfit from Episode I, the one with the velvet 'frock-like' coat, *swoon*) :)

I'm getting buttloads of muslin tonight to work on it Saturday, here's hoping my first try with pattern altering isn't too bad :)
