I got the trim sewn onto one side of the coat last night. Damn was that a pain. I still need to sew on the other side, sew in trim to the inside of the coat, sew trim to the side hem on my pants and fix the front with hooks to pull it back.

Its not perfect, but I don't think its too bad either. I wasn't able to find the perfect trim so I just improvised. This experience I think has taught me that though I like the planning and initial costuming work, I end up getting bored with a project and really annoyed with it at the end. I'm really looking forward to sewing a couple of Xmas presents that are simple day or weekend projects!

Heh, *then* paint my gun, *then* make my belt buckle. I also have to make that holiday themed hat for work. It looks like I know how busy my week and weekend will be, and all of this is after homework.

I won't have tonight to do anything, since we're going to The Lacuna Coil show. This kind of bums me out since I'm always so excited to just go home on Wednesdays, but I'm happy to finally be seeing Lacuna Coil too! I'm going to be taking my hubby out for a romantic Taco Bell dinner if time permits. :)

I had to go find a bunch of patterns for little crochet projects, because the sweater I started for my sister over a year ago still isn't done. She laughs at me for the piles and piles of yarn in my living room, when I've only actually completed one project - the rest took too long and I can't sit down with them long enough to finish, even though I was really excited to start them. I totally understand. ;)

Crafty!

Heh, I have 3 milk crates filled with projects I haven't finished yet. A bunch of them are things I need to mend that I'd love to wear, but haven't fixed yet :)

I think the thing is, when I make an outfit for me or for a gift I can be more creative with it - if there is some snafu in the process I can adjust what I'm doing to compensate. Trying to make a costume that's super accurate is an exciting challenge in the beginning, but frustrating when I can't find the right trim, can't spend a lot of time in big chunks on it, and then it drags out over a few months. I'm SO happy that I'm nearing the end of this project, but I don't think I'm going to jump into any serious costuming after this for a while. I'll add it to the list of "stuff to do after I'm done with school" :)
