I really love the idea of oranges but the act of eating them can be quite a pain. I got one of these
for free at my first Pampered Chef party and its a huge help . I still spend a lot of time picking off the icky white bits from the fruit left over from inside of the peel. Pulp is icky (though Brian would disagree)!

Something is going down in my office; there has been a lot of whispering. Also, a co-worker that's usually pretty business casual (emphasis on the casual side) was wearing a suit the other day, came in to work late in the morning and then changed in the bathroom into normal style work clothes. Hmm.

We caught the last 1/2 hour of the movie Parenthood last night with Steve Martin. God I love that movie! I first saw it in high school in my "Child Care" class (one where they prepare someone to work as a daycare provider - at one time I thought I may do that or go into teaching). I'm not sure what the point was for showing the movie to our class other than to demonstrate that kids can be a big pain and run you ragged, and yet be amazing all at the same time. I can't tell you how funny it was watching a movie that involved Steve Martin finding his sister's vibrator in front of their whole family in a high school classroom. I've been saying for years that I wanted to show Brian that movie - he seemed to like the last 1/2 hour of it. I may just buy it at some point, I think its really neat (and Keanu is hot in it, too).

I think that movie was appropriate given our situation this week. B is in one of his rare and elusive schmoopy moods and has been all week. I like the analogy in Parenthood about life being a carnival ride. Either you go on the roller-coaster and have amazing ups with amazing downs or you go on the merry-go-round and just go in circles. I'd prefer the roller-coaster myself (despite the fact that IRL I tend to stay away from them).

We're planning on going to Man Ray tonight, whoot! I've been wanting to really dress up so I think the PVC Catherine Coatney will make an appearance tonight.

i love that movie! my favorite part was when the little boy was knocking his head against a wall while wearing a bucket!

last night, barely awake, i watched without a trace. amazingly excellent portrayal of what the "experts" are calling queen bee behaviour among jr. high kids/girls. toss in a huge amount of ostracization, and you have a recipe for suicidal action. so sad, but well done.
