Date: 2004-02-23 07:42 am (UTC)my landlady refuses to fix or get a new fridge for me, and it's been leaking for over a year. it ruins my food and it's rotting the floor--and her only response is that "blah blah blah too much money put your food out on the porch" well, I can't put my food out on the porch cause the temps are too high for that and ALL of my food will go bad. I spend too much fucking money on my rent for this shit.
sorry for the rant. ;) I'll let you know this eve when I talk to my parents if they wanna go for it or not. I can't see spending $400 for a new fridge to take care of the prob so this would be GREAT!

Re:

Date: 2004-02-23 08:50 am (UTC)Cool. We could probably drop it off for you, too (I just don't want to offer for long distances and complete strangers, you know). We had to buy one for the Waltham apt and got a new one when we re-did the kitchen. It works fine and we kept it for a spare in the basement but we haven't used the thing in months.
You can see the bottom of it in this pic (freezer is on the top, door is reversible, we probably have the manual somewhere):

Here's a pic of our friend Greg in front of it in our old apt:

Date: 2004-02-23 08:53 am (UTC)Its the smallest full-size fridge that Sears makes (its all that would fit in our apartment). I can ask Brian to measure today and get back to you on the height.

Date: 2004-02-23 10:03 am (UTC)Just let me know ASAP (like tonight) - someone on Craigslist e-mailed with a possible interest but I told her that you got first dibs. I want to get back to her as soon as you know.
Whee!
Re:
Date: 2004-02-23 10:32 am (UTC)how soon do you need to know by? sorry for the delay, but they live in downstate NY and my landlady doesn't do shit if it costs her money.
Re:
Date: 2004-02-24 04:32 am (UTC)I need to let the woman know this morning - there isn't a chance your Dad came down last night is there?
I tried to sell this fridge once before and had no takers. Now that I know we have one I don't want to pass it up (in the chance that your dad is able to fix the fridge).
So let me know this morning if your interested. If not I'll contact the other person.
Thanks :)

Date: 2004-02-24 05:52 am (UTC)I understand if you have to let this go to someone else.
Re:
Date: 2004-02-24 06:54 pm (UTC)I'm confused - does this mean you don't want the fridge, or do want the fridge or still want your Dad to look at it?
Thanks :) I'd rather have it go to a good home than some random stranger on Craigslist.
