Quote of the Day:
Mar. 3rd, 2004 02:34 pmThe memorial service for my boss' Dad was this morning. He was a Navy Veteran, an avid boater (in Gloucester where the family lived), active in their Episcopal Church and also apparently a singer and classical music buff. This was in the program from the service (under a note that his cremated remains will be scattered at sea):
"I really don't know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it's because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and the ships change, it's because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and therefore, we have salt in our blood, our sweat, and our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back to whence we came." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy

This reminds me of how much I want to get back to the beach. It also reminds me of how excited I am for summer and swimming in the cool atlantic water. It also reminds me that I really want to come up with a dance name that is based on my maiden name, Marmonti (i.e. Ocean-Mountain, where I spent a majority of my vacationing time as a child and never tire of). I'm having a hard time finding a middle-eastern sounding name that's appropriate.
