Yes, it really is (at least, it is here in Waltham right now)! I came back from the kitchen after getting some hot water for my Nutcracker Suite Celestial Seasonings tea (gotta use up the stock of teas from last year so that I can buy some new goodies from Upton Imports).
It was a wonderful weekend: a birthday dinner at Fire and Ice for Bad Andy and then some shopping, browsing and perusing Macs in the North Shore Mall. Saturday I spent a lot of the day writing my essay for school, searching for that perfect house-warming gift for a friend and baking a couple of apple pies (I'm trying a new experiment - I cut up the rest of our apples and froze the pieces in a bit of lemon juice to preserve them until I'm ready to make more pies, a half-bushel gets you A LOT of apples). Saturday night we went to two lovely parties in two drastically different, though both beautiful settings. And yesterday I finished up my essay, went to lunch with a friend from High School at Grasshopper's in Allston (mmmm, vegetarian asian cuisine - its next to the Model Cafe pretty much). I finished up last night with a short visit to see 'the fam' and then the show at the Middle East.
It was nice to catch up with people that I haven't seen in a while and to meet some new scenesters. I'm glad that the show was well attended (though it seemed to empty a bit after the Scissorkiss set). B and I didn't stay the whole evening since I needed to be at work on this fine chilly day. You know, I always complain about having to come into work on a floater holiday even though its my choice to do it, but its always so peaceful. There are no loud noises, no phones ringing and only a few people around. We're upgrading one of our major databases and I needed to do some mindless data entry and testing before Wednesday so I figured that today would be the best time to do it. So here I am, in my jeans and Tufts 10K shirt from two years ago (slacker, I'm not doing the race this year). I have my bagel, my tea and some CDs - and a wonderful view of red and orange leaves and snow out of my window. I think I'll go out in the cool air and visit B and the other housemates for lunch today. . .
Only two more days until our vacation! I - CAN'T - WAIT!
