dancerjodiLast night was fun, I wish that the guys didn't have to get up so early, it would have been fun to stay. And you all didn't tell me about the school girl thing! I could have broken out my authentic skirt! :) Hopefully the birthday boy won't kill me after he listens to the complete birthday mix. . .
School related rambling
I've already finished the work I have for Evaluations that's due a week from Monday (with the holiday, we don't have class on Patriot's Day). Basically in that class I'll have another short paper, a little more reading, and the final paper. Since I have to do a needs assessment at work on our Physicians use of EMR (electronic medical records) anyway, I figured I'd write about that for my final; I love when work and school comes together. I brought home some materials to read and use for the paper - it would be really neat to get it out of the way this weekend and coast through that class for the rest of the semester.
The primary focus of my homeworking this weekend will be the thesis. I have most of the first draft done which wasn't too hard - I combined all previous papers together and I'll need to make edits where my professors had comments. I've really liked having a structured process this semester to produce chunks of the paper at a time - its been a huge help with organizing the project, and makes sense, since one section builds the next one.
I'll have to do the analysis of my other data set (I analyzed the full year 2003 data set, now I need to do my January -March 2003 and 2004 comparison). I cleaned my 2004 dataset and did any recoding necessary at work yesterday (before my AM meeting, and during my lunch hour).
I just need to put on another CD and start playing with SPSS. I'd be so excited to get a real finished draft done by the end of the weekend - then all I'd need to do would be tweak a bit more, read and re-read, perhaps pass on to others for some reading and critiques, and incorporate any final comments from my professors on this paper that I just passed in last week. I should be in good shape for the presentation on May 5, and passing in the final paper on May 12. HEY, if I get that Evaluations paper done early, perhaps I can pass it in early at the last class (the 10th).
Anyway, back to work. Its going to be very quiet and lonely with Brian gone this weekend and not having a lot of social plans, but I think its what I need to do to get the work done. Despite being bored with all of this sitting at the laptop, its comforting to know thta I'll have a lot of free time again come a couple of weeks.
