The inspection in Framingham went well - hopefully we'll have both P&S' signed by the end of Friday. And then we pack and make moving arrangements :)

Here's pics we took during our inspection on Monday afternoon:

Funky things to note:
Mexican paint style in hallway and kitchen (i.e. some walls with alternating colors)
Man did they like yellow! The kitchen, hallway, 1 bedroom and master bath are all yellow!
Neat old radiators and detailed brass locks/doorknobs
Dinky 1/2 bath on first floor (probably was a closet)
Dutch-door in living room leads to sunroom (where buns will live, will be a sitting room, and will eventually get a wood stove)
Kitchen is a nice size, pretty updated
Soapstone sink in basement
Work from who my dad would call "Bozo the plumber" in basement
2-car garage from long driveway
Good sized yard
Patio area just aching for a jacuzzi
Walk-up attic
New furnace, newer water heater, all new windows (last fall), mostly new electrical (some rooms grounded, others not . . . but at least there is no knob and tube) :)

Basically, its the same # of rooms as we have in Framingham and the house is aligned in a similar way, mostly fully updated house, they are just smaller rooms. We'll have to be creative with furniture arrangement and such but MAN is the location worth it!

Mmmmmmmm House pr0n ;)

Very cool new digs there. Heh, I think that Bozo (or one of his close relatives) did work in my house's basement as well.

the newton st. house brings back memories. i had a girlfriend (sort of, but not really) who lived there 3 years ago and then moved to RI and I havn't heard from her since.

That's funny!

Maybe it was 2 years ago she moved? The people that are living there now have only been there 2 years.

They also said they did a lot of work on the place (kind of lead us to believe that the place was a complete dump when they moved in). Does it look any different to you? I'm just assuming you've been in it before.

Its very freaky to think that in 2 months we could be living in Waltham again - 6 blocks from you guys. Yay!

Was your friend's last name Casey or Higgan? According to the city website the guy selling the house to us bought it in the fall of 2001 from someone named Casey or Higgan - here's the info:

Yikes - he bought it for $260k and now he's making $370k!
