Cat looking for a good home

No, its not mine - its my nephews
My sister is going to be moving and doesn't want to take my nephew's cat with her. She's got a cat of her own - Max's sister - who is very old and gets beat up by my nephew's cat all of the time. Jagular (or "Jag", for short) is very social and friendly with people, but doesn't seem to like other animals. She's overweight, but since she lives with 2 other cats its difficult to put her on a diet. Also, she obsessively cleans herself and as such has bald spots on her belly and legs (the vet says this is a nervous habit, due to not liking the other cats).
Here's a pic of her from 2000 - she's MUCH larger than this now http://www.diabolis.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=105&pos=10
She's white and has some tiger markings (grey/black/brown), long haired (very soft) and I can't express how affectionate she is to people. If I didn't have a cat I'd totally take her home. She needs a home where owners can keep her on a diet, and make her feel comfy (to break her out of her anxious habit). She's been going to the vet each year so I can only assume she's in good health (aside from the weight/stress) and that she's got all of her shots.
Please let me know if you have any leads. I feel so bad for this kittie (I'd guess she's about 5 years old) and want to try and help her.

Date: 2004-05-10 09:51 am (UTC)She's home alone most of the time, as to being a climber or breaking things - I don't think she does that.
My dad says that she's been scratching doorways . . . my guess is that's due to the fact that they don't keep her nails short and that she doesn't have any scratching posts or anything to play with.
I know with Max, I was worried about taking him out of that house, separating him from the other cats and sticking him in an apartment where we were gone all day. He's done WAY better though with us, since he gets better care and more attention being the top cat. I'd assume Jag could probably do the same.
Let me know what you think - there is time and all, but I know you mentioned possibly getting a cat. If you want to meet her, and think about it some more that's cool too. I feel really bad for her - my parents don't seem very good about taking care of animals, they let minor problems go until they blow up (like say, Max's peeing habits that we were able to break).
