Don't I know it!
The closing has been confirmed for Wednesday June 16 - wow, < 1 month away! Well have to be moved out on Tuesday and will pay to store our stuff overnight in the truck (so that they can do the walk-through). We have yet to figure out what times the walk throughs and closings will be, and where we'll put ourselves, Max, Batty and Praline on Tuesday night. We could stay in the house (sleep on a mattress on the floor and throw it in the truck the next morning), but would need to be at the Cambridge Registry of deeds at most likely 8:00 AM and would need to get our pets out of the house and somewhere safe before then. Ah well - these are easy things to worry about.
Brian is calling the movers today to have them come out to our house and give a concrete estimate. They are going to guarantee the price, and are estimating (with the over the phone item inventory) that it will take 2.5 hours to load, 1/2 an hour to get to Waltham, and 2.5 hours to unload.
Packing, packing, packing! All we'll be doing is packing from now until then!
Rennies! I have a chemise made of dark purple cotton that's got lilac colored lace sleeves - interested? Its free - I never wear it.

June 15
Date: 2004-05-18 05:43 am (UTC)Well, we'd need to stay somewhere on the eve of the 15th where Max and the buns could hang out until mid-afternoon on the 16th (closing day - i.e. after we closed, got to Waltham, got stuff moved in and had the place safe to let the cat run around in). The original plan was to close in Cambridge at 10:00, so my guess is that the movers would start loading in at around 11:30-12:00 and would be done at around 2:00-3:00. So, feel free to say no now, given the need to have Max somewhere safe during the closing/moving process . . . I'd feel bad about your kitties staying locked up for so long.
If it *is* OK, we could have a fun sleepover! The buns would be in a cage so they'd be easy :)
Thank you so much! I'm nervous about staying with my family because truthfully, I wouldn't trust them to keep Max in a room separate from the other cats. One of them would go in to play with Max (who would be nuts from being locked in a room) and one of the other cats would bolt in or something.
Re: June 15
Date: 2004-05-18 05:52 am (UTC)The only caveat is that we leave for Minneapolis that Friday the 18th, but you guys are welcome to have a key to our house if you need to stay another night. And no worries - in the summer when it gets really hot, we used to lock the kitties in the top floor anyway. Snot a problem! They lay on the bed all day anyway. :)

Date: 2004-05-18 06:03 am (UTC)Nope, just overnight on the 15th (and leaving them there while we're closing/moving for a few hours on the 16th). That's it. Thanks! Let's call it a date :)
