After getting those rubbermaid bins last night I had enough $ for either the Tori DVD or the Morrissey CD. I went for Tori (since I love her a lot more than Morrissey, and since her DVD was cheap and I'm not sure how long it would be). My hubby though picked up the Morrissey CD for me anyway out of our "weekend" money budget. We won't be spending $ over the weekend since we'll be at things that are free, so he said he could swing the $12 bucks for me :)

The Tori DVD is amazing - its from her last show on the Scarlett's Walk Tour (in Florida). There is also footage from back stage and some random interviews. I swear, her wardrobe just gets wackier and wackier as she ages. I forget how awesome the sound is in our den since its rare we sit in there and listen to music - hearing the Tori concert booming over the Cambridge Soundworks surround sound is the next best thing I think to live. The disk also comes with a music CD with 6 unreleased songs that I've yet to listen to.

Seeing Tori on TV reminds me that I need more funky shoes :)

I listened to the Morrissey CD on my commute today. There are some songs I like quite a bit, others that I like the message of but find the lyrics themselves kind of rambly and aren't grabbed by the music. I think this is going to be a "listen more and like it more" kind of CD. It kind of bums me out, since I've been waiting for him to come out with another album for a long time - was Vauxhall and I the last one? Or am I missing one? I used to have a bumper sticker from that album on my Monte Carlo (I got it from some WFNX sponsored concert at One Kendall Square, where G-Love did an acoustic set). It had the "The more you ignore me, the closer I get" on it - and was lilac purple to match the album cover.

I wish I could sit with my honey and watch the rest of that Tori disk tonight, but I'm off to see http://www.comedywedding.com/lastsupper/index.cfm with my co-workers. A former co-worker has a son in it AND Kat is also performing. We went before to see her at the Montvale Plaza and I had a lot of fun. This time around we'll be at the Kowloun on Rt. 1, and I'll get to see her torment my co-workers ;). This time around there will probably be some dancing - because my co-workers will be all over doing the electric slide and chicken dance (where Brian and Jen were less than interested).

"do would you recommend the moz album at all? or no?"

I like it, just not as much as I've liked past albums. A couple of the songs have really grabbed me . . . others, eh. He's had some odd lyrics here and there historically anyway, but a few of the songs made me thing "geez, my 7 year old nephew could write these lyrics". Its just not what I was expecting after so much time with no new albums.

The photo on the cover is neat at least - him in a pinstriped, double-breasted suit. He's clearly aged (showing some white hair in the pic) but I still think he looks really good.

Apparently he's trying to appeal to a new market.

yeah, i don't mind the fact that he's aged. too many people are busy trying to appear young.
