a hearty lavender might be good. they love full sun, just need normal watering and can grow quite large. find a plant that's tall so it'll grow up and out. the little ones in tiny pots never seem to amount to much and stay pretty low to the ground. the larger lavender looks better in a corner position

also, sage is very hearty & is also useful in the kitchen. grows to a nice rounded shape.

rosemary or winter savory.

margarita daisies always look good & grow about knee high.

forget-me-nots aren't bad, but sometimes spread outward leaving a hole in the middle.

astilbe is nice w/it's white or red soft flower spikes.

hosta is a good corner plant...close to the ground, has cute bell-shaped white or light purple flowers. leaves can be striated. a variety of plant sizes.

russell's garden center has some good ideas. they're located in wayland.
