First off, this almost made me cry (but in a good way). Congratulations to H and A on the birth of their daughter!

For all of you peeps doing the LJ crush meme, did you read the terms of service? The bottom of it states that they'll be selling your information to anyone, and that it should teach you a lesson about giving out personal info over the internet (or so I've been told).

We checked out a pizza place in Waltham last night that opened after we had moved away a couple of years ago. It used to be Mamma Josies, and was in Waltham forever (Brian and I loved them, my Gram used to take us when we were kids). It closed at some point (we found last night, because the original owner's nephew or something took over the business, and snorted profits up his nose, heh). Now its Papa Georges - and has great stuff. Of course though, in the small worldishness that we've been finding since moving back to the watch city we ran into an old Rocky person, Acid . Funny! Years back Brian used to run around in drag with Acid while he was in gold underwear (he still does this at the show, btw). Brian and I want to plan a trip to the show soon, usually we go a couple of times a year (I'm thinking early September - anyone?).

Tonight is the Rush show, I bring you lyrics :)

Sprawling on the fringes of the city
In geometric order
An insulated border
In between the bright lights
and the far unlight unknown.
Growing up it all seems so one-sided
Opinions all provided
The future pre-decided
Detached and subdivided
in the mass-production zone.
Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit
So alone
[chorus]
Subdivisions
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
Subdivisions
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out
Any escape might help to soothe
the unattractive truth
but the suburbs have no charms
to soothe the restless dreams of youth.
Drawn like moths we drift into the city
The timeless old attraction
Cruising for the action
Lit up like a firefly just to see the living night
Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose their race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
to relax their restless nights
Somewhere out of the memory
of lighted streets on quiet nights.
[chorus]

NY pizza

"i'm on a quest for NY style pizza. i was on a quest for NY bagels, but i found them at Sara's Market in Cambridge. now i just have to find normal, non-greek, non-massachusettes style pizza. i think it's going to take a while..."

This stuff wasn't bad (was Italian style, not Greek).

There was the best NY style place in Framingham that alas, closed. It was called "NY City Pizza" oddly enough. A few people I know really picky about food (one from NJ, who grew up with NY style pizza) approved. But they clossed. Dammit!

There's also an awesome NY style bagel place in Framingham (they also have one in Needham - they are called "Cafe Bagel"). They've won Boston Magazine Best of Boston a few times, do water style NY bagels. A good friend of mine that grew up in Brooklyn loves them.

Have you tried any of the Jewish bakeries in Brookline?
