I've been blowing my nose so much, that the skin around it is dry and peeling (oh, sexy!) despite the fact that I have tissues with lotion in them. I keep applying some of my hand cream on it (Avon Silicone Glove, works wonders) and keep reapplying chapstick on my lips to help them out. My upper lip split the other day and bled because it was so dry.

So needless to say I won't be doing any Man Raying, Goffeeing or Buffy Musicaling. I need to get healthy so this thing doesn't go straight to my lungs and bring out my asthma (I'm already wheezing, luckily I haven't needed the "oh shit I can't breathe" inhaler yet). It wouldn't hurt me to do some homework either . . . I didn't get nearly enough of it done this weekend. Less than 2 months to go though, whoot!

I can't believe its already Wednesday, wow!

i've found that pretty much all tissues make my nose dry. the best thing to do (at least while you're at home) is to use a pair of old cotton underwear (or an old cotton tshirt or something). it's much, much gentler on your nose.

I was thinking about skipping Goffee this week as well, I have stuff to do, leave the next morning for NYC, and am trying to deliver a few used Tapes to Waltham. If you're feeling up to snuff maybe I can drop by for a quickie visit, maybe buy you and the hubby some ice cream or cocoa. (or ice cream AND cocoa!)

I have to email the buyer about meeting, and obviously see how you feel. Plus I don't want to get sick myself and give it to poor CB.

Anyway *hugs* and feel better

Well, that's all up to you. I think for my own good I should stay in (i.e. not go out for cocoa or ice cream) - but you're welcome to come by if you'd like :) It is just a cold, but I'd feel awful if you caught it from me (for yours and CBs sake) :)

I would bring you ice cream and cocoa, missy. You get to stay in with your feet up, a warm blankie and cat, and get served by the hubby. You think I'd drag you out when you're sick! Silly missy!

And yes, that will be a concern, but if I get CB sick, then there's, *ahem* an INTIMACY that will serve him right for getting sick. Here's hoping anyway. *evil grin*

Don't mind me, I just have a dirty mind *whistles innocently*

that's because I rock, but the world needs a serious kicking.

Sorry you feel so bad and are missing all the fun stuff. I hope you didn't get it from me. I'm still sick and I'd hate to have to add guilt on top of everything else. ;) Seriously, hope you feel better soon.

Do you have a preventive inhaler like Floventtm you can start? What ever's going around does seems to head for the chest/a nice cough so you might want keep your asthma a bay by starting something similiar. That is if your asthma's really bad.

I managed to stay off prednisone this round by doing that plus rescue inhaler ...

Just a thought.

Feel betters!

I do have one, though I can't remember what the brand is (its not flovent). I also have a nasal inhaler (rhinocort).

I've never needed prednisone. Once my asthma was diagnosed (about 5 years or so ago) treating it was much easier. Before then I had no clue what was happening to me (and ended up in the urgent care center on a nebulizer a couple of times)!

I recommend a lip balm with shea butter in it--it's expensive, but works so much better than anything else that you don't have to use it as often, so you spend less in the long run. Got mine at Cambridge Naturals--it's called Karite-Lips.

For the chapped nose area, CamoCare skin cream is good. (It's also great on zits, if you ever get them.)

That has always been one of my favourite quotes.

'tis the dry skin season. I am not even sick and the balms are out.
