Go get some used CDs!

I picked up a bunch of cheap used CDs at the Newbury Comics in Burlington last night (four total for $17) - either they just got a ton of them to sell or they are cleaning out older ones to make room for new ones.

I finally found Prince's "Love Sexy" on CD. I have a copy of a tape and have been trying to find the CD over the last year with no luck. Its actually only one long 45" track, since its so old and wasn't recorded in digital or on CD originally (it was made in 1988). But finally, finally I have it! With a few hours of geeky work we'll rip it and make a new recording parsing out the spaces between songs.

Prince is the man, and always will be. He is an extremely talented musician (before he formed "The Revolution" he played all of the music on his own on the albums). I think that he has a talent of being sexy in songs but not over the top like some other pop or rap artists of today can be. Subtlety in sexuality is a talent that not many artists possess, its refreshing sometimes. I think leaving something to the imagination is more exciting than letting it all hang out.

we must listen to different Prince music. :-)

I think that

he's subtle compared to other modern pop or rap music. Some of his songs have themes that are over the top but they rarely come right out and say it (with the exception of "Get off" and perhaps "Cream").

I think a part of it is that he sings about the EMOTIONS of sex too (and not just the physical part) - that really appeals to me :)
