Friday randomness
Nov. 19th, 2004 08:45 amI just placed an order with http://www.uptontea.com . Its been a while, but we wanted to use up some of the stuff at home to make room for newer, fresher tea (we don't have a ton of storage space in the kitchen.
I still haven't heard from the Ebay people that I won the ceiling fan bid from (its been a week). I e-mailed them yesterday to ask about it. If its mid next week and I still haven't heard from them I'm going to have to poke around and find the terms of service (If I don't get my fan and its getting closer to 30 days I'm taking my $ back). I really want to get it and have Brian get it up in the kitchen so we can take one of the blades to Home Depot and pick out matching paint for our cabinets and the wood trim in the kitchen.
I realized something last night. We headed to Davis Square so that Brian could fulfil his major burrito craving and I grabbed a book to read since we were going to be there so early (being productive and doing homework is a good thing and all). Its the last book for the semester. The last book for my college career period! It looks like a pretty short/simple read and is about Affirmative Action.
On that note, I was groovin in the car on the way to my cousin's place last night for my hair trim:
What's wrong with the world 2day?
Things just got 2 get better
Show me what the leaders say
Maybe we should write a letter
Said Dear Mr. Man, we don't understand
Why poor people keep struggling but U don't lend a helping hand
Matthew 5:5 say "The meek shall inherit the earth"
We wanna b down that way
but U been trippin since the day of your birth
Who said that 2 kill is a sin
Then started every single war that Ur people been in?
Who said that water is a precious commodity
Then dropped a big old black oil slick in the deep blue sea?
Who told me, Mr. Man, that working round the clock
would buy me a big housed in the hood
Cigarette ads on every block
Who told me, Mr. Man, that Eye got a right 2 moan?
How about this bog old hole in the ozone?
What's wrong with the world 2day
Things just got 2 get better
Dear Mr. Man, we don't understand
Maybe we should write a letter
Listen, Ain't no sense in voting - same song with a different
name
Might not b in the back of the bus but it sure feel just the
same
Ain't nothing fair about welfare
Ain't no assistance in AIDS
We ain't that affirmative about your actions until the people
get paid
Ur thousand years r up
Now U got 2 share the land
Section 1 - the 14th amendment says "No state shall deprive any
person of life,
liberty, or property, without due process of law"
Mr. Man, we want 2 end this letter with 3 words
We tired a-y'all
Unrelated, tonight some peeps from NY are coming down to spend the weekend for SuperMegafest. Despite there beeing a cooler con in NYC with more events/celebs they are coming to support the Boston area Rebel Legion in our attempt to recruit more people and get active. They arrive in Framingham at around 5:00, and I wanted to try and meet up with them for dinner and show them around a bit - be the good hosts and all. Brian and I just need to figure out what may be the best things to do out in that area (keeping in mind, another local member gets out of work around 7:00 near Stoughton and probably would want to meet up withs us).
Dinner and - something? A movie? Fun and Games? Taking them to see the Jordan's furniture? A coffee shop? Not being drinkers, its hard for us to plan something for people that seem to be content to just hang out in the hotel bar. I'd love to take them into Boston or Harvard Square but there's no way I'd ask them to drive there (and we probably won't all fit in one vehicle). Hrm. . .

Date: 2004-11-19 07:21 am (UTC)That's still them driving into the City . . . they're from upstate NY and will be driving 5 hours to get here, so I'm not sure how excited they'll be about driving (period), never mind driving in the city :)
