Another week
Jan. 10th, 2005 08:50 amIt was tough getting out of bed this morning. I was up late on Saturday/Sunday and my body is trying to come down with a cold. Its a good thing I didn't go snow-shoeing yesterday (though, I had been really excited about it).
Thanks to those that came out to our house on Saturday! Its definitely warmed! I climbed into bed at around 4:30 AM and the last guest left at 8:00 AM (or so), save for Lachesis, who spent the night. It was nice to bum around the house in PJs with her again and share breakfast at Bickfords.
After some errands and visiting Gram and the family we watched the remake of Stepford Wives stopping here and there to switch laundry over. I really enjoyed it, and want to add the original to our Netflix cue. Was it as campy as this one?
I'm looking forward this week to making chili, continuing to get my life in order, continuing to have free time, and continuing to see friends I haven't seen in a while. Oh yeah, and dancing. I can feel myself getting stronger and more flexible again, and routines are starting to stick in my head. I really like the song that one of our ballet routines is to (from Center Stage):
"Don't Get Lost in the Crowd Lyrics" by Ashley Ballard
You are the one
That keeps your dream alive
And you are the one
Who feels the rhythm deep inside
Do you ever wonder
If you can make it fly
But you will never know
If you don't really try
There's so many fast breaks,
Quick cuts and a million starts
Can make you wonder
Can make your dream
Ahead of the star
When you know your heart
And follow your own destiny
Don't get lost in the crowd
Be the one to be strong
And to live around
Moving from dark to light
You are the spark
You have the fire
You are the heart
Now be a believer
Look around you, you may not be
The latest fashion or in a magazine
I'm under high profiles
But you will be
A sweet inspiration
If you've got your own style
There's so many fast breaks,
Quick cuts and a million starts
Pulling you away
From what you really love
If you sing your own song
Straight from your heart
You'll find yourself rising above
Don't get lost in the crowd
Be the one to be strong
And to live around
Moving from dark to light
You are the spark
You have the fire
You are the heart
Now be a believer
Cause we live in a world
Of so many choices
It's hard to find
Our own voices
And keep going on
From day to day
So give with the earth
Give with the sky
Give with the innocence
Don't get lost in the crowd
Be the one to be strong
And to live around
Moving from dark to light
You are the spark
You have the fire
You are the heart
Now be a believer
