Its getting hot in here, lets take off all our clothes! (ok, wishful thinking - mind over manner, you know? - brrrrr!)

Waltham has its new website up http://www.walthamtheband.com/ . I can't listen to sound here, and don't have time to do the 80's movie trivia to see the hidden features. Neat site! Jet Fuel is doing a show on the 29th, figures we have plans that night! Maybe we'll catch Frank and Craig's show next Monday (after going by A's opening).

I didn't eat great food last night and didn't get to work out, but I did get some progress made on the Han Solo shirt. I am SO sick of working on the thing but I'm not starting another sewing project until I'm done with it. If I can get the pattern done I'll need to seek out the fabric, and finish it once and for all. I best get some new Mara Jade leather work out of this (the stuff I have doesn't sit right on my hips, and is kind of ratty). After sewing work I spent some time watching Center Stage (while I played with knitting in the round - I need a different sized needle for the project I'm doing - a Slytherin scarf for Brian - so it didn't work out quite that well). I forgot that the main character's name is Jodi (though, she spells it with a Y, apparently). There's nothing better then thin but muscular men that can dance (well they could have long hair, there were a couple of them)! The actor that played Jim kind of reminds me of Frank Pino a bit for some reason.

There's a great quote from the movie that I had forgotten about. The hard-ass (but really beautiful) instructor reassures a student who keeps butting heads with the director. She expresses what's very hard to do in words about the importance of the barre. I guess its one of those things you just need to experience to feel - but I like how she's put it. I had forgotton how much benefit I got from being at the barre, both physically and spiritually. It was nice to have someone put it into perspective (and be later shown at the end of the film while the credits roll, showing cast members in their differing professional positions in traditional ballet companies or more jazz-based companies - all starting out together at the barre).

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"The smart ones know where to look when things get rough. It isn't there. It's here [walks to the barre]. No matter what happened in class, performance, last week, 5 minutes ago - if you come back here you'll be home".

Hey, I love Waltham! I never got to see them live, sadly, because I moved to VA. :o(

They are a lot of fun live! They do have a DVD out, so though its not the same as live, it gives you an idea of what shows may be like.

Who knows, they may come out your way once their new album is released (the website would have details, as they come)!

The site is interesting, tho I don't find it super user-friendly. I was jamming to the little 'radio station' tho. Good for them tho!!!

My browser (Mozilla) doesn't like it, so I have to open it in MSIE, that kind of sucks. It took me a bit to find things, but I think I'm navigating OK now.

Dave *had* to have a part in this. I know he's done his own web stuff, and the plethora of "chay" references are all Dave! I wonder if he's taken over web duties or if he and Pete are working on it together . . .

Its also neat seeing references to things I hadn't thought about in a while that only old Waltham residents would get (like referencing the old used music store on Moody, or "02154", the city's old lone zip code before they were all changed). I'm going to have to give it a look at home where I have the time and the sound on my computer to do it :)
