Its the 7th finally, our first show is tonight! I'm really excited for it (though I think we're going to mess up the final domino-style fall in the wooden soldier number, for sure). I love being around all of the music, lights, costumes and sets - I hope I'm still able to dance while I'm in school (perhaps they have some kind of dance club I can join or classes that I can take).

I haven't been able to do any of the pre-performance rituals that I usually partake of because I haven't been around the house - like soaking in the bath, doing an extra-good job of shaving and giving myself a manicure. I guess those things don't really matter in the grand scheme of things (like nobody in the audience will be able to SEE my messy cuticles) - its just part of psyching myself up for the performance.

I'm feeling like a big lame-o at the same time though. B and I went to Netgoth coffee last night (I met him after practice in Davis Square) and I didn't have much to talk about that WASN'T the show. If you eat, sleep and breathe broadwayesque musical it can make for a dull conversational partner. I'm caught up in the excitement of performance now and a bit crazy with the lack of sleep - it will be nice when its done.

And after all of this we can see Lord of the Rings and check out the Edaville Railroad Holiday train/lights display, whee! :)

Its called Edaville USA (or something like that) now, it re-opened a couple of years ago. They are doing the train thing until January 6th, weeknights from 4-9 and weekends all day until 9. The article in the Waltham paper said to get there early on weekends since the rides sell out.

Perhaps a group trip for this would be nice . . . I think it would be easier to go during the week (no risk of selling out) but then the 1+ hour drive there and back on top of the 3 hour long train ride would get us home REALLY late.

I have a little mouse stuffed animal that I named "Edaville Cran" that my parents got me at the gift shop there years back (because he kind of looked like a cranberry) :)

Yeah, but your a fr34k!

Its in Carver (right next to Plymouth) - its not a long ride but mid-week going after work, I don't know if there would be enough time to do the tour (1.5 hour ride to get there, need 3 hours for the tour).

I don't really mind long car rides (actually, I like them a lot) but B gets a bit stir crazy!
