In case people were wondering
Mar. 17th, 2005 09:54 amI won't be at goffee tonight. Brian and I will cook up some herb-garlic pork and ginger rice with veggies and spend the evening at home with our stuffy heads. Much reading, knitting, tea drinking and (I'm sure) geeking will commence.
I'm wearing my GREEN sweater in honor of today (really, just because I like green quite a bit, and today people won't look at me funny for it). Its the same color that my cheerleading uniform at St. Patrick's School was back when I was 12-14 years old. We'll also be marching in Southie on Sunday, yo! I'm not nuts of the history of this parade, being discriminatory and all, but they are donating $500 to Katie http://www.heartofanempire.com/Katie/ , so I can't complain.

Date: 2005-03-17 06:02 pm (UTC)I'll be one of the Royal Guards. James and I match in bright red velveteen) but I think I'm a bit taller, which is how you can tell me from him).
I'm not sure what Brian is wearing yet, either a Stormtrooper, Tuskan Raider or Death Star Gunner

Date: 2005-03-17 06:29 pm (UTC)We just called the organizer and asked if they wanted us (and they said very excitedly "yes", and we'll give $ to a charity for you too). :) It also helps I guess having letters of recomendation from past parades and Lucas Arts :)

Date: 2005-03-18 06:14 am (UTC)1 can of soup - doesn't really matter what kind, but I find that tomato-based soups taste best with this spice mix
1 cup of kimchee (preferably mak kimchee, but any will do)
3 tablespoons of garlic (fresh or granulated; use less if it's powdered)
1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
Some of every kind of pepper in your spice cabinet; I use about a tablespoon of black pepper and about a half-teaspoon of cayenne, along with a dash of white pepper for flavor.
Add a bit of horseradish if you have it.
Be sure to drink a lot of fluids while eating the soup.
I prefer using veggie-beef soup for this purpose. It's like steam-cleaning your sinuses; everything that's in them, comes out.
Okay, I guess that was probably an image nobody really needed. :)
