I had a total townie moment. I was leaving the dance studio tonight and when I got to the bottom of the stairs and opened the door to the cool air outside I saw a couple of guys were in front of the bar next door having a smoke. Who should one of said guys be, but a guy I used to hang out with in HS. He's actually the guy that the Waltham song "So Lonely" was based on in a way (that fateful song that got them a Boston Music Award http://d16901.u23.nimbit.com/bma/winners.2003.html). Heh.

In other news, here's some pics that one of the NY peeps took in Times Square. There are a few of Brian, a lot of the ship, and some good ones of Anthony Daniels (3P0), the R2, and the M&M characters:

Now I just need my Brian to come home so he can rub my sore calves (of course, my guess is he's pretty tired after standing in Times Square all day)!

Hee - I looked at the pics, and the only one I saw B in was the dinner one. Which is at the BESTEST restaurant EVER! Mars 2112 was SO MUCH FUN! Kinda expensive, but awesome drinkies, and great atmosphere.

Must go back next trip!

He's in a bunch of them (some of them even say "Brian" in the caption). Of course, the orange can be kind of overwhelming and all! :)

Well I'm busy gloating about tickets, chatting to [livejournal.com profile] feline, watching TV, downloading "stuff" and trying to work.

And the orange IS overwhelming. Rebel Scum.

that's why it was nice that the M*Pire (m&m/mars) paid the tab, including all the drinks the drinkers could drink ;)

D and I got SO TRASHED in there!
*grins*
I believe we also hit on/were hit on by a green gentleman with antenne. It was FUN!

The food was pretty good too. I also made everyone ride the "arrival shuttle" ride. I still remember it very well, even after a while.

It's nice to know that place is still there. I hope you ordered something GOOD considering the lack of drinkage!

Yes he is, otherwise known (and has been for a long time, since his military days) as "The Reaper".

I had a total townie moment.

revel in it!

this afternoon it was sunny, so i went for a ride. i stopped at motomarket. about a dozen cambridge motorcycle cops showed up, having headed out to be honor guard at the funeral of a coworker's wife. shortly before i left, a 30-ish woman showed up on a sport bike, came inside, spotted one and squealed. they went to grammar school together in cambridge, and hadn't seen each other in, uh, i think not since high school. it was kinda cute. cambridge townies, but not in cambridge!
