DANCE: Dance class over the last 2 nights has been great. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself this summer when I don't have any lessons going on. Perhaps I'll finally hit some workshops/haflis.
ORGANIZATION: A co-worker of mine left last week, so we're taking her to dinner at Jimmy's on Rt. 1 (the Jimmy's that's also in Arlington). Here's hoping we won't be out too late, since I'd really like to have some time at home tonight. Perhaps I'll finally get some basement cleaning done. We need to take a trip to Costco for the bulk necessities, but don't have anywhere to put the things given the mess of our basement. I also have a serious need to go through my closet again and weed out things I never wear - its too cluttered. Given the lack of closet space I have I should do like we did as kids and put the bulk of winter stuff in a box in the attic.
GARDENING: I also want to hit Home Depot and/or a garden center this week to pick up some potting soil and herb plants. I'm going to put them in the little patch of ground next to our garage (with the chive plant we got from Tom and Lee years ago that just won't die! - note to self, go visit the llama family soon!). Next I'll be filling in some bare spots on our oddly planted front yard (I swear, the former owners closed their eyes, spun around, and tossed plants in randomly) http://www.diabolis.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=211&pos=63 . From there I'm hoping to clean the edges of the property, do some mulching to prevent weed growth, and start an attempt at a vegetable garden along the side of our house that's under the kitchen window (I'm Italian - I've got to have tomatoes growing, you know?). It figures of course though, that rain is expected this weekend.
OUTDOOR RELAXATION: This will be the first summer since 2001 that we'll be able to enjoy the summer. We bought/completely gutted and renovated a house in summer of 2002. Then we renovated the kitchen in said house in 2003. Then we bought and moved to our 2nd house in 2004 and did some minor cosmetic work. I'm really going to enjoy the time and peace we'll have from no moving and no remodeling. We need to pick up a hammock chair to hang on our tree http://www.diabolis.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=211&pos=62 , and a new patio set that's not white plastic and butt ugly, that will hang on for the long haul.

It doesn't look that bad, really. Almost like it was deliberately not designed. I'm sure the next tenant in my apartment will have the same thing to say about how I planted things in my tiny strip of yard. This year, I'm expecting lots of weeds, unless the wildflower seeds (that came with Tori's CD) actually sprout.
