Santa's Castle
Dec. 12th, 2001 11:56 amB and I went here on Monday night: http://www.shaghaus.org/albums/holidays/santas_castle/
Its a bit cheezy but is a bit of a tradition for us. This was actually designed by an older couple in Peabody and they used to have their home, front yard and back yard decorated. People from miles around would come to see it and eventually vendors started showing up selling food, drinks and pictures with Santa Clause to benefit charity. B got to go there once with me when we first met before they stopped the display; you see neighbors complained about the amount of people and traffic that would be on the streets in a normally quiet suburban area from the time of late November to early January.
The Stone Zoo in Stoneham decided to take over the display. The first few pictures on our site actually have nothing to do with Santa's Castle - they are from "The Italian House" in Newton over near my parent's house (they decorate each year like this and B and I take anyone we know by to see the silliness). The rest of the pictures are at the zoo, starting with the bald eagles. The white foxes were SO CUTE!
