Our piano guy came up to the studio last night. We ran through some of the numbers from the first part of the show with him (skipping jazz, since the tap took the full 3 hours).
We're opening with the Echo Tap (a routine we did with Peg out front - originally behind the red velvet curtain with only feet poking through. They gradually raised the curtain to have it eventually fly up and reveal all 50+ people back stage). After that my class will do our "Sweet Heaven" Barry Manillo tap routine (the new to me routine), and then I'll run to change for the fast jazzy/ballet routine to "We're Dancin'" from the Center Stage soundtrack (we'll have about 3 numbers to change). I know that the "Jive Bunny" tap medly will be the finale of the show so somewhere sprinked in between the opening and there will be 2 more ballet routines ("One Moment in Time" and "Let There be Peace on Earth"), 2 jazz routines ("Wilkommen" and "Me and My Shadow") and presumedly some more tap - who knows what she'll throw in from the old classics.
IF YOU WANT TO COME SEE MY SHOW its on Sunday, June 5th at 6:30 in Waltham. Let me know if you want to go ASAP, because I have to give a ticket request estimate to them on Saturday. Our space is limited this year since we moved to a smaller venue and she wants to see if she needs to impose a ticket limit per student/family (we're moving from a 1200+ theater to a 350+ theater). Brian will be going and presumably my parents, so you'll have some friendly company. I'd love for you all to come see me, but only reply if you know you can make it, and you are serious about it :)
(heh, the list is already at 9 assuming that my parents and Tigerette want to go - the previously mentioned possible ticket limit was 10. I know co-workers wanted to go and the Goddesses . . . we shall see. Perhaps there will be a bunch of others that won't want a lot of tickets).
My bellydance show is on Saturday, June 25th in Central Square at 7:30 http://www.thegoddessdancing.com/showcase_2005.htm
In other news, we picked up the "Spamalot" soundtrack last night. I NEED to see this show!

If you follow the link from the bellydance show URL you can order a ticket there. That way I won't have to remember to do it a month from now :) I'll order the one for the Waltham show.

Date: 2005-05-04 01:59 pm (UTC)I'm not really sure why this struck me as funny, except that I don't think I've ever heard my dad referred to as "our piano guy"....lol
our piano guy
Date: 2005-05-04 03:39 pm (UTC)Well, I knew you were the only one who would know who "Kenny" was :)
Your Dad definitely seems like a lot of fun (and reminds me of mine - who also plays piano but learned to play by ear, so I'm not sure if he reads music or not).

Date: 2005-05-05 12:20 pm (UTC)Its too bad, because that's the one that will be the good one (its not all tap - tap, jazz ballet).
"but would like to try to make it to the belly dance show. Maybe we can do that and still make it to the party later..."
If you guys are interested you can order tickets from their website (link in my post). It will sell out (at least, it has over the last 2 years). We're going to try and make the party after if I'm up for it.
