Trooping for a good cause
May. 16th, 2005 01:21 pmThis is what its all about really. Brian, Aaron and I went to the http://ride2005.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=69721 to cheer on returning riders, pass out water, and generally give people a shock as they came around a corner not expecting to see storm troopers and biker scouts at the end of their journey. Ride volunteers yesterday estimated that the group raised almost a million dollars! Awesome.
Here's some of our photos from the day http://www.501neg.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=321 . Most inspirational was hearing people's individual stories, including one woman who got off her bike, ran over and hugged Brian, said she's been a huge SW fan since 1977, and said that she's been cancer-free for 6 years.

Well, I'd like to do this event again next year and get more troopers there. We shall see!

Anything you need, just ask. Of course I'm *always* willing to ramble about good ole Waltham :)
