We finally checked out http://www.restaurantcasamia.com/ last night. Its a short walk down our street (reviews here http://boston.citysearch.com/review/34262803 ). The food was good and made from very fresh, simple ingredients. The menu had the Italian staples and a few unique things. Our waitress was very attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxing. You can tell its a family place, with the older guys looking a lot like some of my Gram's brothers greeting people coming in the door.
I spend over 2 hours at Saturn this morning for my 120k tune up. As expected, I needed front brake work (they were 90% gone). I also needed a new Serpentine belt. A lot of money later (basically, it ate up my whole weekly paycheck - ouch) I headed home for some puttering, cleaning, relaxing and such. I figured out what to do with our first week's community farm share. We got lettuce, greens and radishes which will do me for salads during the week. Radish greens are good for bunnies, so they made out in the deal too! We've also got 2 heads of cabbage and 2 of bok choi. I'll do a cole slaw for our SW crafty day/bbq tomorrow. I'll also do a ramen/cabbage/chicken dish I found online for dinner sometime this week, and I'll do a pork/bok choi stir fry dish for dinner another day. Leftover bok choi will be stir fried in a ginger sauce and I'll freeze for a side dish later. I'm dedicated to not letting this stuff go bad! We also got some pick your own oregano . . . what to do with a bunch of fresh oregano?
Later, I watched the video from the Goddess Dancing show I was in in 2003 to get the "Circle Dream" (10,000 Maniacs) choreography. I'll be doing that dance, my performance group surf rock dance, and my solo in the show. I was going to work on the Cantina routine a bit but its just too darn hot. Perhaps tomorrow morning or Monday/Tuesday before going up to practice. I'm hoping to to check out the Incus thing after practice on Tuesday . . . it all depends on if the timing works out.
We're going to RHPS tonight in Harvard Square with some 501st peeps, join us! Also, if people want to join in costume/crafty geeking tomorrow give us a ring. :) People will be comparing armor/helmets/props, building, sewing, sanding, painting and just generally geeking.
I love weekends. They feel so heavenly now that grad school is done . . .
