CRAFTING AND COOLING:
Brian redid another Leia bra last night (wasn't happy with the first). Wire was molded to me, clay applied and it was left to dry. Its looking pretty neat (we've got to go buy some paint and things to finish it, probably tomorrow. While he did that I cut out some pattern pieces for the vintage 40's Catwoman dress that I'm making for Dragoncon. It was too hot to deal with laying out, pinning and cutting fabric. BUT, we got our AC in the den and its sufficiently cooled, so the rabbits will comfy, the cat will have a cool place to go, and we'll have somewhere to do crafty work if the rest of the house is stifling. Brian put a ceiling fan in our bedroom last weekend so the combination of that w/ 2 in window fans has kept things cool enough for us there at night.
DANCE:
Dance class tonight. I spent some time watching video clips of people bellydancing last night to get some good comparisons to what I'm doing. I think I'm actually trying to put too much into the routine, making it awkward. I need to focus more on the isolations and less so much on footwork. Here's hoping that helps me this eve in my practice at home before rehearsal.
MUSIC:
Is anyone going to the Incus/You Shriek thing tonight? I'll be in Central anyway, getting out of practice at around 9:00 so the timing is right. I'd love to hear this new incarnation of Incus.
DAD:
I also figured out what to get Dad for Father's Day. 2 years ago my parents went to my bellydance show, and beforehand Brian took them perusing in Pearl Art. My Dad LOVED the place. He mentioned yesterday that he ordered tickets for this year's student show, and wanted to hit Pearl again. So, I'll get him a gift cert and some funky artsy thing to give with it (I hate just giving gift certs)! :) I'll pick it up tonight before rehearsal.
