After practice I headed to the Zeitgeist show and found Anders, Splean and Matt who were good company for the evening. Its actually the first time I've made it to something at Zeitgeist (!), I definitely like the setup, albeit small.

The 'acousticish' set from You Shriek was great http://www.youshriek.com/, and served to showcase their lyrics and musical (not programming) talents in a way I haven't seen before. They even did a version of one of their old classic songs on the CD Brian and I have at home. I also really enjoyed Incus' new music http://incus.net/ (Tember, you'd love the new incarnation of the band). It made me think both of carnivally Cirque Du Soleil and of dancing around a fire. Their fan base is very crunchy, not what I'm used to at the shows I usually attend (nothing wrong with it - but you could definitely tell the goths from the hippies). Its rare to see that much energy and dancing at a small local show!

I headed out right after their bellydancer performed in favor of getting at least 5 hours of sleep (she was great, not too much variation in choreography but very great isolations and shimmy control . . . pretty much appropriate for the hippie vibe of the event). As such, I wasn't able to grab a CD on the way out, but I'd like to pick one up at some point soon from their website.

Off to the salt mines (or something). I'm hoping to go after dinner out with Brian tonight to get the remaining needed bits for the Leia outfit. I picked up earings and an arm band (in favor of saving time in making them 100% screen accurate) at an accessory store last night. I'm starting to get excited about it all. I also got to see a bit of the teacher's Crone dance - very pretty and definitely will showcase their differing talents in the show.
