Some pics from Saturday's wedding: http://diabolis.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=271 (pretty dark, but one of my sexy hubby in a dress kilt). My ankles are feeling much better (and now you see why I had such bites in a shaded, watery, grassy area). Putting witch hazel on the mosquito bites and wearing socks w/ loose/comfy shoes yesterday (and NOT scratching - Brian, ahem) has helped them to the point that I don't notice them anymore. My poor feet/ankles!
I got some news last night. One of my dance teachers had been out over the last couple of weeks. It turns out her husband is diabetic and has been in the hospital this whole time with complications, mainly poor foot circulation issues. He's lost 4 toes to it thus far, but should be stable and regaining circulation soon *crosses fingers*. Please keep them in your thoughts (for those that know her, its Karema I'm referring to).
I did the Cantina dance for the other students last night and they seem amused. The song starts so suddenly, so I'm going to put a movie sound clip in there beforehand. Which one you ask? On a classmate's suggestion: "Mos Eisley Spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." - and then the music will kick in. Hee hee! This should be fun!
I think we may have the costume finished tonight, and if that's the case we'll take some pictures. It will be about 80% screen accurate given lack of proper supplies and/or time to make/get them, the need for the top to be more supportive, my wearing a veil, and a bit of modesty in the hip area. For example, I won't have the right footwear (but you won't see much of it anyway. My hair may be simpler than hers (given I'll only have 2 songs to get into the costume between acts). Still, people should get the idea. In related news, did anyone catch the American Film Awards last night, and Carrie Fischer's roast to George? She had some choice comments about that metal bikini! :)

Date: 2005-06-21 01:11 pm (UTC)We taped the AFI thing last night. I expected it to be a lot more embarassing since Billy Dee and Carrie were there and they're not known for their great speaches to the public. But it was quite amusing. The CA garrison did awesome at the beginning. They stole the show from Shatner. I think, anyway.
::sigh:: Nothing to do at work today. The "higher-ups" accidentally removed my access to our computer support site so I'm out of luck until my boss gets them to change it back. Fun fun.

Definitely (though, I'm not sure how difficult that is to do)! :)

We're going to the Middle East afterwards for drinks/food, but you're more than welcome to come along! :)
